JEEPERS CREEPERS! PHOTO BY DICK VLAHA 8-09
spidervlaha8-09.jpg

The Spider is called a "Green Lynx Spider" one of a small family "Oxyopidae".
They tend to hunker down around flowers and other bits of plants or shrubs and leap out onto passing insects which it can then enclose in a basket if you will formed by the long spines on the legs, and consume at its leasure. In fact the picture I refer you to is almost the same as yours showing the spider in ambush on a leaf with its "drag line" at the ready to wrap its prey up if it is fortunate to get it.   There is nothing to worry about; there is a startle factor by its quick motiion and sharp leg spines should you be dumb enough to try and capture it in your hands; like all spiders it is to be considered "a friend" and left to go on about its business.

The following photos were submitted by a Royal Highlands resident to their Manager.  These wild pigs/boars were seen in Royal Highlands common area; they might be heading our way?
