able to capture 2 in a photo as they were following the river upstream."

The Spider is called a "Green
Lynx Spider" one of a small family "Oxyopidae".
They tend to hunker down around flowers and other bits of plants or shrubs and leap
out onto passing insects which it can then enclose in a basket if you will formed by the long spines on the legs, and consume
at its leasure. In fact the picture I refer you to is almost the same as yours showing the spider in ambush on a leaf
with its "drag line" at the ready to wrap its prey up if it is fortunate to get it. There is nothing to worry
about; there is a startle factor by its quick motiion and sharp leg spines should you be dumb enough to try and capture it
in your hands; like all spiders it is to be considered "a friend" and left to go on about its business.

seen in Royal Highlands common area; they might be heading our way?
