CHRISTMAS 2006
submitted by Irene Roth
There were about 12 ladies who came to Ashley Hall on November 10th and, under the leadership
of QM Helane Foreman, put all their efforts into decorating a Christmas tree with a red hat theme. The white tree
was donated by Wal-Mart and the ornaments were bought, donated, and hand made items such as glass balls of all sizes, mini
decorated red hats, fans, canes, snowflakes, garlands, boas, etc. The topper was a ladies head personalized with
a lovely face by Dan Crusie, and topped with a velvet red hat.
Pictures were taken by Fred Roth of the decorating group. Representatives of Hospice arrived
to pick up the tree which will be displayed, along with approximately 50 others, at the "Season of Trees" at the Donnelly
Park Pavilion in Mt. Dora on Nov. 12-16. They will all be auctioned off, however, the Plantation red hat
tree has already been purchased by La Hacienda at Mission Inn for $1,000 and this money will be donated to Hospice of Lake
County. A photographer from the Orlando Sentinel also came to Ashley hall and took pictures for the newspaper.
